when i add various users on one file to the download queue, do i download off the ones with slots open?, or are they there in case the other user disconnects?

in other words, is there multisource downloading?

As far as I know you only download from one person at a time (at least in DC, DC++, BCDC++). Adding more people gives you more sources which you'll connect to if you get disconnected from the present source.

I think Reverse Connect (another variation of DC) has some sort of multi-sourceing, but I have not used it myself.

That is correct DC doesnt support multisource downloads or "swarming" but I too believe that RevConnect does support it. I also know that multisourcing is frowned upon on most hubs as it eats more bandwidth
