Okay it just so happens that i have the client bitspirit, i'm uploading at my full speedwhich sucks and my download sucks. Yes, another lame post about slow bt speeds. Well, i don't even have a router now, it's broken so im open to hackers, and i closed my software firewall. Any suggestions?

From what I gather, having your upload speed maxed can seriously cripple your download. I'd suggest cutting down your upload to about 80% of your max upload bandwidth. I've never used that particular client, so I can't help you with how exactly.
Sorry if you allready know that, I'm new.

www.bitcomet.com

Both of these allow you to limit your upload speed to your choosing

I've never had a problem with BitTornado uploading at a faster speed than I set it at. it also has the option to limit download speed per torrent also.

I also use bitspirit and yes it doesnt matter what you set the limit to, it still uploads what it feels like uploading. I set mine to 1 and it will upload anywhere from 5 to 20. I usually don't have a problem with this even when I'm downloading several torrents at a time, my download bandwidth usually still gets maxed or close to it(350-400kbps max). My upload is 384 (about 40-50kbps max) With that said I still find its the best bt client out there. Just needs a little more polish
