Resuming files

Is there a way that I could resume an incomplete file myself? Edonkey keeps searching for sources but takes forever just to find one. When I did a search for the file, it said there was 22 available. Edonkey is still looking for sources. How could it not find any of the 22 available? Any help is appreciated. Thanx. Im a newbie to this program.

donkey needs a restart.

donkey works best when there are very few uploads going on. that means if you have no downloads happening, restart donkey. sharers will come back later, but your donkey will have time and room to find good sources.
may i suggest you get the donkey bot (search for it on google.com). you can set the bot to restart in the way i just described. it can also help find and keep good sources.
this answer is only right if your donkey is correctly set up and connected.
