I guess this has been asked before, and so I do apologize if I am like the 100th person asking this....but I need to know.....lately, whatever song I download - I can't use. It downloads, but after about 1 minute of playing the downloaded song, it starts to buzz (something that sounds like a buzz anyway)...the last 4 songs I downloaded has done this. Is this some type of protection built into the songs?? OR, am I doing something wrong....Please Advise.

Thanks.

I think it may have something to do with fakes or corrupted files the RIAA and their cronies are putting on P2Ps. I know some people have had problems with Kazaa/FastTrack.

i guess ur on kazaa, lately RIAA has been flodding the network with these "fake files", either u can get a new copy and hope it works, or u can shift to a new p2p

i recommend DC++ http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/

its standard practice here to rubbish kazaa and explain how the network u use is superior just look at the thread where ppl ask where they can d/l kazaalite etc the standard answer is th explain how kazaa is no good and show how leet you are by using some other network remember the point of posting seems to be to show how smart you are and not to provide the information the poster requested

i get what you are trying to say, but there is no answer to these fake files, honestly there is very less you can do but shift to another network

i try and answer the questions posted and also post an alternate solution, i currently am not guilty of a 1337 kazaa hater, but still i feel guilty, dunno why, may be coz there is no escape from the fake files

you got to admit its funny how ppl assume that it must be kazaa where these files were d/l you to tell the user to shift from kazaa but i fail to see where the user said they were using kazaa maybe they were using kazaa maybe not but why assume somthing ?

Ok first things first, do all of your songs have this problem? Also a nice program to weed out the fakes is MP3 Shield. http://www.mp3shield.com/
PS folks, lets not bash anyone for asking a legitimate question.

PS, I also had a similar problem caused by my audio drivers by my onboard sound.

Yeh, before i converted my sister to Ares (from k-lite) she was whinig bout having songs with corruption. I said, try ares and problem solved. Stay off kazaa, the declining population of users and the increasing number of fakes will make kazaa extinct. In a couple of months, fasttrack will be like walking in a digital chernobyl.

when one says corrupt files.....its a safe assumption to make that the user is on kazaa

adios

I only mentioned Kazaa because I have personally heard songs downloaded from that particular P2P that have been corrupted. Kazaa may still be fine for software, but I doubt it is a great choice for music. Also, since there are a lot of people who are cross-sharing folders, corrupted files can easily spread to all P2Ps. Such is the downside of free music.

The Fasttrack network is still a pretty good source for music. The selection is pretty good. Use MP3 shield. It already comes packed in all new versions of K-Lite if that's you're FT client of choice or you can DL it from MP3Shield (http://www.mp3shield.com) if you're using something else. It weeds out the fakes. FT can still be useful when used like this.

I would say that the majority of fake files have been sourced from kazaa and moved to other networks. Fasttrack is the network the RIAA primarily target, due to the flawed hashing system. If someone states that they're getting fakes, the logical solution is to point them towards a network you know doesn't have fakes, ares for example, from which I have yet to download a fake, wheras kazaa I'd go through up to 18 copies of the same song looking for an orginal.

On dial up, that sucks.

a buzzing song isnt a fake song. its a real song that got corrupted from some riaa bots as sources..

I assumed it was Kazaa also..........it is loaded with fake mp3 files. I am now using ARES P2P and have found it to be very fast and so far 100% reliable. Just wonderin' if Ares has a peerguardian built in.
