Are music downloads on BT safe? IS the RIAA sending letters like the MPAA?

Since I mainly used BT to download less popular music and anime, I pretty much assumed I was safe(yeah, I know they can see my IP). I've been reading about how the MPAA was sending letters to those that download movies over BT which I don't download...but nothing about music downloaders....not even mention of RIAA letters and I've looked for the past 2 hours for them online becuase of what happens in the third paragraph.......

I couldn't really imagine the RIAA suing me for downloading techno songs

However, I came back from college and since I'm home I took advantage of the fast speeds and open BT ports to download files to take back to college.....my mom who I download files for occasionally(usually oldie type R&B) however had a odd request..... She heard Avril Lavigne on Oprah(I shall rue both these names with even more scorn!) and had me download a album she made....which I used suprnova.org.....like usual.....

Only to remember that it's the popular **** that gets ya caught....even one of the lame "stop downloading" letters would scare the crap out of my mom.... well the avril files aren't fake....but I have OCD and I'm paranoid as hell....I might aswell be downloading RIAA supena forms....she even had me get some other popular albums too.....damn...

Is the gig up?

I haven't seen a lick of evidence the RIAA has taken any action against music downloaders over BT, no letters. I think somebody would have mentioned it online already.....

I'am I paranoid.....or is the RIAA actively going after music BT downloaders like the MPAA...think this will be the end of my downloading days(at home anyway)?

First of all, Welcome to ZP!
Second, you shouldn't list the names of files you've downloaded or for example ask for links where to find files. Most, forums don't like that and I believe this is one them. You should edit your post. Third, I don't use BT myself, but so far have only heard of the RIAA going after music filesharers on fasttrack sharing 1000 or more songs. I've also heard about the MPAA warning letters on BT but heard nothing more beyond that yet.

After rereading my previous post I realize I should reword it. Sometimes the brain doesn't work at 5 in the morning. It's OK to ask for good sites to DL movies/music or to post them yourself. I'm not sure about naming movies/music you've DL'd. Now that I think of it, probably OK but im sure a mod or someone who's been here a while can clear that up for you for sure. Also, just so you know for the future, I'd assume you're not allowed to post links to sites that have cracks for programs. I was looking for a thread with the rules to confirm or deny these things. Couldn't find it. Not in the FAQ unless I missed it.

Lol, if I was a stooge I'd be saying I recieved a RIAA letter just to scare you people. Instead of asking if letters or supenas had been sent out already for BT music downloads....you probaly won't hear from me for awhile. I usually post at IGN under the monkier Zen16

Well, it a bit weird that the RIAA has not bother to look at Bittorrent downloaders...many people have gotten a letter from MPAA but never from RIAA.....fucking weird man?

Maybe they are not wear of it? Who the fuck knows!

Well they can't really sue for multiple songs on BT, but yeah, I thought it was weird the RIAA didn't send letters either
