This is weird-Protowall was blocking it.Now I have to figure out why since this has never been a problem before.I don't know if it happened before or after the last time I updated the blocklist.
I've been using Usenet for the last few days.

PG's IRC server is also on the BISS blocklists at the moment... I'm sure it's just an innocent mistake though.

Anyway.. best thing to do is to report it to BISS..

(I'll make sure the lists on my site have this IP filtered out in the next couple of hours too.)

Peace!!

Theres a cool app SuprNovaXP that takes torrent listings directly from the site. Bad for add profiting for suprnova, but good for avoiding problematic websites

Still having problems. Every time I click on a save target I can now save to my download folder but each time I try to connect with ABC it tells me it's an invalid torrent. Everytime I double click to use another bittorrent client it opens Windows Media Player instead of the torrent. Every other site? No problem at all - just suprnova.org. Getting very frustrated!

Because everytime I try GoSuprnova for instance I can't save the target?

ok i've just read all of this and still have the problem. i'm using sn and when i click on a file the tranfer box comes up but there is nothing going on in it. just shows the pages flying from one folder to another. it was all working fine until about a week ago. it seemed to have started when they were having problems.

If anyone is having problems with suprnova (as it does have frequent problems) try http://torrent.youceff.com/ it is a much bigger site than suprnova, and in my experience has every single torrent that supranova has.

Hey,

There are alot of other growing torrent sites out there, why not help them grow?

Then at least if SN is down there are alot of other sources.

I would suggest giving http://www.torrentspy.com It's quickly becoming the torrent site of choice by many.

Is suprnova down at the moment?
Yes, it appears that suprnova and youceff torrents are gone for good, one as a result of french police moving in, shutting down youceff servers, and the other apparently for lack of funding/ability to cope with hosting so many torrents. Hope this doesn't spell disaster for the torrent network.

Anyone know if Slyck news is gone too? I found out about youceff from Slyck, but now I can't reach that site and I fear the worst...

Lokitorrent has started a legal defense funds

Enjoy BitTorrent? It's time to step up and support it.

$300 in support so far, $30,000 needed

Every penny of this fund will be going towards legal and other costs associated with saving peer-to-peer as a whole.
This may sound like a lot of money, but legal fees are VERY expensive, and $30,000 is the minimum required.

The fund is already in the (-1%)negative!!!??? I don't really know about this. Even though I support Loki/Muff Torrent I'm afraid they'll do like Steve Miller and take the money and run.

Mels - that's not negative - there's a space after the dash (duh!)...

I believe that lowkee (the owner) is NOT a scumbag, and I don't think he's just gonna take the money and run. Having said that, it's not illogical at all for you to think that, but still, if you like LokiTorrent, you should donate.

But make sure you become a member of the EFF (http://www.eff.org) first. The Electronic Frontier Foundation is the biggest group of people that defends digital freedom. They have tons of lawyers and are often mentioned and quoted in file sharing news articles.

Yeah I realized that later when I saw 300 was 1 % of 30000. Im still not sure about this fund though

That's sad, oh well moving right along.

It sure will be missed, but hell anyone with a brain knew it wasn't gonna last. I mean the whole reason napster went down was because of it's centralized nature and bittorrent is the same thing. I know there are many other torrent sites, and I know im sounding like I think Suprnova was the only torrent site, but if the **AA brought down the biggest torrent site down what does that mean for the other small ones? (They dont stand a chance) I know other tracker sites could be hosted on Russian/Palestinian servers and be immune from the man (**AA), but what good is it if the man can just download the torrent and log every IP address of the peers it comes in contact with, and sue all the american ones. The downfall of suprnova might be a big sign of the downfall of bittorrent itself. Don't get me wrong BT will live on helping distribute linux distros and stuff, but not helping distribute all the shady stuff weve grown to love.

And so the p2p community looks back, sighs, and moves on --as we've done it countless times before. I sure hope the guys at suprnova continue working on that decentralised app they were working on.

See you next year.

Love,
El Baghdad

Its sucks big time that Suprnova seems to be gone for good. I only wish we could say the same about those self-righteous assholes that initiated the attacks on it that have led to its demise. I hope they rot in hell !!! I know suprnova isn't the only torrent site available but it was he biggest and best known (and probably the best target also ) . I would suggest that those that are serious about continuing to support file sharing and bittorrent joing the EFF as was suggested and also contribute to the legal defence fund that Lokitorrent is organizing . I don't believe they have any intention of taking the money and running and everything I have seen on the site convinces me this is totally legitimate. :green4
