I'm BitTorrent-downloading a 5.043 GB file using Shareaza and everything was going fine till it reached 5.035 gigs of it (99.84%). Despite it having sources to download from and having download speeds up to 40 KB/s, it's been stuck at this EXACT amount for five days now.

I don't understand it, it displays the speed and gives an estimated completion time (which always ranges from 6 minutes remaining to 50 minutes). It seems to have reached a plateau and decided not to finish writing to the file.

The file is 5 gigs and I have 7.86 gigs free.

Do Torrents need double the filesize capacity to "duplicate itself"?

Please help!

the torrent might not have any seeders - in other words, no one out there has a complete copy. if i recall, shareaza doesn't alert of this problem, but both abc and bittornado will warn you if there aren't any complete copies out there.

i've also found in general that shareaza isn't the best when it comes to torrents - not that this is related to your problem, but i'd recommend checking out another client (i used to use shareaza before i switched to abc, and i'd never go back)
