Strange.. and I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me sort this out.

WinMX is basicly working fine for me, with searching and downloading, but very, very rarely is someone able to download from me. I watched my transfers for a bit today, and only 1 user in maybe 50-60 made a successfull connection, and was able to download. All the rest get stuck at "Waiting for incoming connection...", and then time out.

At first I thought perhaps it was my firewall (Zonealarm Pro), but after checking ZA's settings, and even trying it for 30 minutes without ANY firewall, I am still seeing the same problem.

I'm not sure what info to give, that might help diagnose this problem. I'm making a primary connection, have a cable modem, and as I said, all my own downloads and whatnot seem to working great.

Anyone have any thoughts?

You might try changing ports and using a primary connection. what is your cable modem model and make? Do you have xp? in any case you should try one of these sites for more help:

I have a similar problem. 100% of my uploads time out after waiting for incoming connectrion. I would say that 99% of my downloads fail when it comes my turn in queue. I am on a lan at an appartment complex and I think they have a firewall, but if I can get some downloads to start then I would think I could get some uploads to start. If anyone has any input I would be greatfull.

Thanks

winmx 4 was like the most awaited release, and it never happened, i dont even think they had anything going, and now the useless betas, whatever whatever

if u have installed sp2, it can be a problem of 10 half-open ports http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads
