irc can beat that if you get fast bots but a lot of ppl say irc is not p2p so i guess it dont count

My connection is about twice as fast as yours (1MB/s [i.e. 1000KB/s, i.e. a 6MB file in 6 seconds]) and I get about 4-5GB/night average, so I can pull down about 10-12GB/day no problem.

I've done that good. Im not a heavy downloader but last night I was craving some anime so I got in on shareaza via bittorrent/ed2k (combined sources) and it was coming in at 6mbps!
I swear adelphia forgot to cap our speed because it's insane. Upstream too I can do over 1mbps.

matt merch even if you count IRC to p2p is ok but lots of people disconnect you durring download and i hate it,pissed me right off. same like DC ++ you can manage proper speed and when you nearly finishing your downloads -BAM -disconnect! :(

I use eMule Plus (currently 1n), I stay connected 24/7 and have 390GB of storage (250GB, 100GB, 40GB). Some games I occasionally archive to DVD or CD (I archvive the images or bin/cue then mount them later in daemon toolz. By not modifying them, I can share them later and be courteous because there still may be other sources.)
edit: PS: My ISP is Optonline, and the node is physically located maybe 20 feet off the corner or my house. Literally its across the street. And I can speedtest all day @ speakeasy 1100KB/s download and 130KB/s upload. Its sweeeeeet.
I'd switch in a minute to VDSL (if I was closer to the C.O.), or Fiber to the house. But for now this is good. :-P

Mine is three times the speed of yours and i say your both full a sh*t. there is no way you can download at a thousand kilobytes (1 megaBYTE) per second.
it is not feasible to download 6 gigs on a 512 kilobit connection in a 24 hour timespan.
3 Mb connection = 2.6 seconds per megabytes @ 375 kilobytes a second.
you are looking at OVER 24 hours for 10 gigs on a 1 megabit line.and over 48 hours for that much data on a 512 K line. :angel

Psilaxis, I can download 95.04GB/day if my line was "maxed" over a 24 hour period.
(1.1MB/s [peak sustained throughput] * 60 [seconds in a minute] * 60 [minutes in an hour] * 24 [hours per day])
3Mb/s < 1MB/s.
You can not believe me all you want, but ask others who are on Optonline. Some get even higher speeds than I do O_o.

i got me a t1. it is awesome. i can download anywhere from 2 to 3 MBps (megabytes per sec.) i downloaded win xp sp2 at about 2.8 MBps and got in just over a minute. most sites arent that fast though, and either are p2p. and my upload is just as fast. the most i ever download in one day was 44.35 GB. and that was easy. best network for speed is probably bittorrent if u dont count irc.

especially with ed2k network there are many determing factors on how much you can pull down in one day. EG How much upload b/w u offer for the files you are sharing. EG How popular those specific files are on the network (the more popular the better). ed2k network is a awesome resource for hard to find stuff it is a LOT slower than rivals but it delivers quality files(no fakes, misnames whatever), not saying its not existent but its very smal. I think that is something to value :) hope this helps ya
If I really want to push my connection I could download 25+gig a day I got 8mbit down/1mbit up try to figure that 1 out :P

a T1 is a 1.5 megabit connection buddy (but it is symmetrical) you are looking at 175 kilobytes per second MAX.

Then you need to state you have a 10 megabit/1megabyte connection, because there is a HUGE difference between bits and bytes.
A lot of the times i see people on the internet who just got a broadband connection, and *think* they will be downloading at over 500 kilobytes per second because there line is 512K :bk

Yeah, I hate the confusion as much as you do. But I use Mb and MB properly (unlike countless others). ^_-.
