I'm sorta mulling 2 different design's for my website.

Just vote on what one you think looks better, and comment why if you feel like it, impressions of colors, text, layout. Anything you can contribute.

They are just mockups (mspaint is easy and quick), but then I'll bang out the CSS needed to make it happen, (I didnt wanna waste time doing CSS, which I hate anyway. I'm new to XHTML/CSS, I was a big HTML 4.01/Tables person.. *ugh, I know*)

I like the font (Size/color) on the Sample 2. The other one is too loud and the font is a bit minimal. #2 looks more professional.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. The samples were actually in order of conception. My dad said he liked #1 better, I thought he was crazy, but I figured I should let strangers decide ^_-.

Basically the left nav bars in both sites are not fully realized yet, Home/Guide/Forums/Links will be moved to the left nav bar under main headings for Example #2 (as opposed to example #1, which has the fixed top horizontal bar, and sub-menus on the left).

Edit: I'll also be offering basic CSS swiching in the documents (a simple switcher between "View printable document" [print.css] and "View full-featured layout" [default.css])
