Napster question for experienced filesharers

I have never used the original Napster.

But I am curious. Was it possible to browse through files using Napster?

I don't mean browse through search results, but browse without entering anything.

i used to have 1 beta6 and i don't remember a browse feature--just straight search

There were "hotlists" which allowed people to download from what one person was sharing.. I dont think it was that great because newbies always queued up too many songs to download...
