I want to download files, nothing copyrighted simply uncopyrighted sports videos. But Emule is so difficult to work with. I don't mind sharing files i am not a leech. But currently I have no speed whatsoever on my downloads. I opened up some big directories of files for sharing, upped my upload limit, nothing. I cant wait for until someone decides to D/L my files.
Anyway Ill get to the point my question: Is there any p2p program which you can instantly and easily download any files from the ed2k network?

Try Overnet. It's no longer offered as a stand alone client, only as part of eDonkey2000 1.0 but you should easily find plenty of people on the ed2k network who are still sharing Overnet 0.52 or 0.53, the last versions. Or just use eDonkey2000 1.0 but don't enable the server client. I've used all the major ed2k clients extensively and in my experience Overnet is the fastest downloader. It was never universally popular as emule and emule mods have greater features for releasers and statistics addicts.

But I downloaded and installed eDonkey2000. There is no Overnet just eDonkey. I looked in the Program Files folder in the eDonkey folder and there is only eDonkey2000. Where is Overnet?
Also, why does it say it doesnt work with Zonealarm or Antivirus? Im not turning them off. It hasnt connected in 5 minutes.

"Im not turning them off. It hasnt connected in 5 minutes."
That's probably why they tell you to do that. Anyway, when you get the ed2k program from the official website, you are getting both Overnet and ED2K. I have found that when I first started it, it only connected to Overnet by default, and left out ed2k. Its as simple as clicking a box to tell it you want to connect to both. Overnet is also mandatory in the latest release, not being able to disable connecting to it, which I have no problem with. I've always had better luck (in terms of speed and sources) when I use Overnet. Good luck.

But why is it that Kazaa Lite allows Zonealarm and Norton Antivirus, so does eMule and everything else but eDonkey doesnt? Why?

Overnet isnt the ed2k network, duh. :P
EmuleUser, Overnet is built into eDonkey2000.
it should be compatible with norton, but zonealarm sometimes has problems with certain programs... you could get a different firewall maybe?

As a standalone client Overnet connects to other Overnet clients and also to the hybrid edonkey2000 clients. Those edonkey hybrids also connect to emule clients. Overnet also connects to MLdonkey clients which also connect to all the other ed2k clients. When a hybrid client is used with Overnet enabled then it connects directly to all the other ed2k clients. Overnet is part of the ed2k network. Is that clear enough or should I explain it to your other brain cell also? Are you and emule user related?

EmuleUser:
I'm using emule/Kad & also Edonkey/Overnet. Both seem to perform about alike...slow if file is not real popular. New movies & such download quick, but old TV shows and the like are waaayyy slow.
Both are working fine with Norton AV BTW.
News servers like usenet are really fast, but you have to pay. Might be an option if you want speed.
