i cant get a green scrolly bar when i start up. its blue.
but bittorrent works fine. set a rule to unblock it, and dont run 2 firewalls at once, so if you have one, turn of XPs.

Im using shareaza for bittorrents, and ive set up port forwarding on my external router. so i have basically a direct connection. If SP2 is still killing it then try finding that multiple connections hack. I dont know anything other than that it was made but it allows 50 connections rather than 10.
oh and i think the blue scroll bar means Microsoft lost the old one? Or theyre too lazy to detect their own OS and insert a new one, but i dont see what was wrong with the old one.

You could look for a wiki guide somewhere. I want to update my guide for SP2, but at the same time I want to wait a while before installing SP2.

This was mentioned in a previous thread. I was leery of Xp2, a co worker where I work who
also is our sys admin agreed with me as there were some flaws in it concerning applications. This concern is mostly for business.
There are ppl who have installed it who say it works just fine with p2p, granted this is
if you know some simple stuff. Sp2 blocks most ports for "worm" security. While it does just that it also kills port traffic for most p2p.
A solution was posted in the other thread
I updated it a few days ago, its been working fine. The only minor anoyance is about outgoing TCP/IP limits, although there is a very simple fix for that. http://lvllord.de/ has a tool that ups the number. You can also through the command line raise the limit to over 16000000
Just download and use the patch and it should restore funtionality to your p2p progs
