so heres the problem.
the dvdrom drive on my emachines pc is recognized by the OS - everytime I attempt to play either an original or back-up dvd the drive runs like it is reading but the disk never gets recognized. I have uninstalled that dvdrom drive and installed a brandnew dvdrom drive which works fine on my other PC with the same specs (different MOBO though) and that dvdrom does not work either. I exchange the dvdrom drive for my cdrw drive (swap the IDE channel ribbons) and the cd-rw drive still works perfectly. In summary; no matter I have a working dvdrom drive that doesnt work in 1 of my PC's, I am thinking it has something to do with the MOBO (AMD). The dvdrom drive is LITEON which comes pre-installed on the e-machines pc's. Any Ideas to resolve this problem ?
