i have azureus and i was getting yellow faces because i hadn't open ports 6881-6889 on my wireless router, so i did this and now when i start azureus i get a message saying "Failed to establish listen on port 6969""Check that other applications aren't using this port" and i only get red faces
So i open this port on my router as well and nothing has changed. If i change 6969 to any other port like 6882 i get the same message but for that port :fire
im really stuck for idea on what to do
cheers for any help, Neil
p.s. great forum

you shouldnt need to open any ports on your routerr to solve "Failed to establish listen on port 6969" I would defeinitly look elsewhere maybe try another tracker/torrent or maybe rebooting...

I have tried rebooting and i have also got several different downloads trying to run all of which get a red light, I really dont have a clue what to do.

you could try bypassing the router physically and see if that solves your problem at least temporarily

not possible because i would need to much cable and would have to drill to many holes

Is your firewall blocking it? Make sure your client has full access.

port 6969 is for running your own tracker, which Azureus is one of the only clients that has this built in, although it is currently horribly integrated and doesnt work well at all. It's good your using a different client. These are just torrents from someplace like suprnova right? If theyre from TorrentBits or another private site, youll have to switch the forwarded ports to something that isnt a default port (e.g. 9929 or something) Also, if your ISP is being a bitch, they could be limiting the bandwidth on the bittorrent ports, thus you could only get 10 KBps on bitcomet. Try forwarding different ports and telling bitcomet to use different ports.

Yeh, yellow doesnt mean you cannot download. I've even gone through whole movie torrents on yellow, while downloading really fast. Sometimes certain clients just dont update it, sometimes its just the tracker.

well ive been using bitcomet for the last 10+ hours and the max speed i have got to is 21kb/s it averages at 9 ? is there anything i could possibly do to improve this. (this is with the default ports open)
i dont know what this info is but here it is anyway ?
seed/peer[all] = 18/44[18/346]
U/D ratio 1.6
are the speeds ok for this info ?
