Problem playing Video Files

i was wandering if anyone could help me with a problem i have with playing video files.
I use Zoom player to play all my video files, but recently i have had a problem playing . mpg files, so i have had to play them in leadtek winfast dvd. with mpg files the zoom player just crashes. this problem has now spread to .avi files, with .avi files the player opens the files, says its playing it but the time sticks at zero. i have windows XP sp2 installed, windows media player 9 and am using zoom player professional 4. and TV tool 9
any help will be much appreciated.

I suggest you try reinstalling zoom player. If the problem still persists then you might wanna try and reinstall windows media player.
If that still happens after that you may wanna try and download a codec pack such as the kazaa lite codec pack which you can get here http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/finalbuilds.htm

Uninstall Zoomplayer.

Uninstall any individual codecs or codec packs.

Install Media Player Classic.

Install FFDshow.

Install AC3 filter.
