Last June, Urban State Records featuring the vigorous efforts of Sir Round, Nojz and Melchior Sultana set sail for the debut vinyl record.
Three separate techno tracks in one EP distributed mostly in Germany but also in the rest of the world.
Feedback sounded great as Sir Round explained, and the record has been played by renowned artists Lars Klein, Patrik Skoog, Manuel Fuentes and Carl Max. What feedback?
"Well, the truth is everybody picked a personal favourite and no track ranked better than another? some preferred one, some preferred another," explained Sir Round.
Actually the tracks all retain a sound of their own since it's three different producers.
While Nojz on Kajovex blended a cool sounding riff on a slightly distorted drum pattern, Sir Round's Buddy list thought brass, the kind of sample that recalls a climax in an ensemble, more prone I dare say to be sneaked from a sound track.
Melchior Sultana's Reacting Functions stood solid for its drum programming and a groovy electronic feel more of a warm up track as opposed to a dance floor filler.
As Sir Round revealed, consistency is now the tread line they are taking, in fact planning for the 002 Urban State record next November.
002 will maintain same method, same artists and three tracks, although adopting a wider approach for distribution.
003 will reconsider the same method once again and 004 will probably feature remixes from foreign producers. DJ Rush may be confirmed for this project.
The last plan to be confirmed next year or so will be a bigger venture for 005? Double pack album featuring only local techno artists!
