one word: abandonware. There are a ton of abandonware websites, and it is 100% legal. A lot of older games wont work on windows xp though, you may have to play around a little. PM me if you need any help.
Peace, Al

The best place I found for truly rare games is this. http://www.the-underdogs.org They deal exclusively in abandonware and more of the hard to find game types. I highly recommend it.

Dual boot with FreeDOS and run the games there, or just DOS if you can find it, that's what I'd suggest.

Thank you crackerjacker and freefalling. If you guys weren't asking and answering questions then I wouldn't have just played a game of Conflict on my 1.3 Ghz machine. It's an old Middle East Scenario game with you put into the prime leadership role in Israel and have to win out over the neighboring Arab countries. I normally have to run it on an old Tandy 1000 that I still have, but it's a pain in the neck to get to and use. It's simple, but fun. Dos Box rocks!

5000 older games all legally downloadable.
EDIT: Just noticed Rally99 posted this before me. Never mind, underdogs is easily among the top abandonware sites.

Thank you all! i will check your suggestions out.
I understand that many old games become abandonware and that's great. Another quesie though: What about games that was released, oh, let's say in December 2003. There is one I can't find on the torrent sites and I am not sure it's old enough to be free yet.
Any suggestions?
Anyway, thanks again for all the help. it's great!!!
