Hello, I have allowed port acces to the bittorent software in my Norton Internet Security 2004 firewall, however there is still no green light, and the download speed is just terrible.
My specs are as follow:
P3 500mhz
192 sdr ram
A decent internet cable connection
Please help me, I'm quite desperate.

PS: I have no router, or hardware firewall. I have already tried changing the ports of bittorent in case my ISP blocked them, no luck though, I've also tried many different bittorrent clients including the original one, torrentstorm, Bittornado, Azureus, Bitcomet etc.

Azereus is great if you are having NAT problems. It maps the ports for you, and it is easy to change the ports. Then, the ports close again when you restart.
Norton itself might be the problem in this case. It does its job, but may be the cause of you slow connections and downloads.

I've been connected several hours, still no green light, I have tried to look if my cable modem is a router but had no succes, and this is the first time I encounter a problem slow download speeds; http, ftp, kaaza, ares, all work fine. My cable modem is a "Motorola cybersurfr wave".

I'll try Azereus again, and respecting my firewall I have tried using bittrorent without Norton (no firewall at all) and with differrent firewalls like sygate or zone alarm, again no succes.

"Shut off windows firewall."
There is no windows 2000 firewall man.
I supplicate for you knowledge people, again please help.
