Downloaded DVD jerkyness

Hi

After watching a few downloaded dvd's why does it appear that when the camera pans the image becomes jerky and sometimes the dvd freezes for a few seconds ? Ive tried them on three player and always get the same outcome.

Any ideas

The jerky effect may be the conversion from PAL to NTSC. The framerate difference (25fps to 30fps) will cause this. There isn't a good fix for this.

The freezing could be a number of things: poor quality DVDRs, your DVD players don't play DVDRs well, bad encoding, too high bitrate, mpg errors.

Does your DVDR play okay on your PC?
