The Dutch Pop Institute under the patronage of the Netherlands European Union presidency will be sponsoring an arena at the Cisk Export Tribu Festival, to be held on 15 August at the Quarry in Mqabba. As a result of this partnership between the organisers, Exit Promotions, and the Dutch Pop Institute, hundreds of clubbers from the Netherlands will be visiting Malta to attend Tribu 2004.

The Dutch EU Presidency Arena will feature five Dutch international artists namely, Michel de heij, Montana, Lainback Luke, Mike Wills and MC Stretch. A special charter flight of over 250 people is being organised by a Dutch tour operator for clubbers from the Netherlands to visit our shores.

Silvio Bartolo of Exit Promotions said he was honoured that the Dutch EU Presidency chose Tribu and is supporting this year's festival: "We are pleased to host top DJs from Holland. Moreover, we are honoured that we are being given this support from the European Union. This partnership will bring a lot of tourists to Malta, thus reinforcing the view that parties can attract visitors to Malta."

Speaking about this year's venue for Tribu, Mr Bartolo said that the festival will be held in a quarry in the limits of Mqabba.

"Never has a quarry been used for a musical event of this scale. It includes several unique features such as special large projections on giant 20 storey high walls and two large car parks of around15 tumoli each," Mr Bartolo said.

The quarry will be equipped with a main stage area and six other arenas which will host over 100 local DJs, ten foreign artists including one of the world's best DJs Carl Cox. Clubbers will also have the choice of a seated restaurant, a pool area, beer garden, fun fair and market place. The VIP area, which will be elevated, will provide exclusive treatment such as free champagne, canapes and watermelon within a lounge area and massage parlour.

Mr Bartolo said tickets are selling fast with over 65 per cent of the tickets having already been sold.
