Brand new to Gnucleus.

Tried Bearshare, and got tired of the advertising, same with Morpheus.

Downloaded Gnucleus, installed and did manage to get one file downloaded.

I'm using a cable modem, behind a Linksys wireless router.

For the last 3 days, I start Gnucleus and go to the downloads and it's just sitting there with the message beside each of the files I'm trying to download:

"Waiting, more hosts needed."

Absolutely nothing going on.

Saw an e-mail where it said to leave it up for a day, did that.

Saw another e-mail where evolve prefs should be set to Beta, did that.

Am running 1.8.4.0

Can anyone suggest a remedy.

I've read somewhere that you'll want to open up the preferences and click on Connect. Increase the Nodes that you connect to. Usually I keep mine on 7. If I want to search for something I'll crank that up to 15 or 25. That'll take up more bandwidth but you'll be connected to more nodes which will give you more to search through to find more people who might have that file you are looking for.

Thanks.

I'll give that a try, and let you know how I make out.
