Im new to this and have used bittorrent the original one and bit tornado.
Heres what I am looking for.
A no adware free client without the annoying pop up "please donate" link the original has
Preferably, something that like Kazaa when you close it goes in the toolbar so unless users exit out of it they will be available to share their files with others.
preferably able to do multiple downloads
fast and reliable..
Which torrent app is the best?

i never seen a torrent that had spyware or please donate, other then searchtorrent. I like shadow, heard abc is one of the best ones.

A no adware free client
so, you want it to have adware, then, right? Damned double-negatives.
Also, I prefer Azureus

WHat works best for me is torrentopia, it has a search function which comes in handy many times. And for some reason, i don't know why, the downloads start real quickly.

I find Shareaza (http://www.shareaza.com) to be the best not only because it's just as good if not better than most of the other torrent apps but it's also one of the best P2P applications also!

Gonna have to lean toward Azureus, and away from shareaza. Good old bittornado isn't bad for a simple client either.

statistically speaking on SourceForge, Azureus is the best.

I use Burst! .... Azureus sucks imho... I hate that feature that allows people to grab 1 file... it promotes leechers way to much. They act like it's Kazaa most of the time... one song..one episode....one rar cuz they're retarded...lol
If you're looking for something more p2p looking try BT++ ....it's old and buggy but it works.

imagine if you will that this was a program that was going to be put on a website and recommended and you wanted it to be as userfriendly as possible meaning minimal technical work, etc. i have used bit tornado which was okay but i didnt like how it made you open a new window each time. the original bit torrent file from bitconjurer is definately a no go as it constantly asks for money. plus im a little confused as i dont know where it put the actual torrent files.
i tried bit torrent ++ and i liked how it had all transfers in one place, but for some reason i cant find the videos that it downloaded. i did a search for them and they didnt show up and the torrent folder and incoming directory that i created for it are blank. im not sure why. i searched my hard drive and cant find the files...but i havent closed the application which was running all night and it says.
So for the program think mass consumption and ease of use. Doesnt need to have a lot of bells and whistles just do what im looking for.
I noticed that azureus required someone to download two pieces, the java environment and the program. then it asked you to configure ports. I want one single simple download that is userfriendly and safe...

Brams has one that pops an occasional window asking for a small kind donation
Thats why I stopped using the original after 3.3
Id say try ABC or Azureus

well for the original client, if you click "i already donated" it goes away I think.
I haven't used BT in a long time ever since being downgraded to dial-up >_<
