the group: Minutemen -- The album: Double Nickels on the Dime

Fucking brilliant American Underground punk from the early 80s... listen to the whole double album... it is brilliant, gluttural and seething with pure, unbridled emotion.

I believe that the song to which you are referring is a cover by the ska-punk group "Save Ferris"... whose first album is good... but later efforts are dismal. Admittedly, they sound very similar, but are, in fact, different groups.

Give "Shinedown" a listen.

I found them to be "ok"; rather one-soundish at times but I think you might enjoy giving it a listen if you haven't already Moony.

Make sure you get a version that has the Skynyrd cover of "Simple Man" on it.

They did suprisingly good with it. The best song on the album is a rather radio friendly song called "45", which is indeed a very good song.

http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6745177&cart=201756539&style=music&Bab=E

This is mostly Alt Rock/Rock/Hard Rock etc...

The lead singer kinda-sorta sounds like Chris Cornell; just a bit. He's very good compared to other trash lead singers floating around out in the infinite expanse of music.

The album art for "Leave a Whisper" reminds of Staind's "Break The Cycle" album art.

As of recently, I've become a huge fan of Indie Rock.

If that floats your boat at all, check out:

Franz Ferdinand - Self titled
Modest Mouse - Good news for people who love bad news
Muse - Origin of symmetry (not as much indie, but it is noetheless a kick ass CD)

Some other Good Rock/Alt:

Overseer - Wreckage
Alien ant Farm - any CD
Cake - Fashion Nugget
Econoline Crush - The devil You know
Incubus - Make yourself ( you probably already have that)

If Rock and Alt aren't your bag look into some of these:

Brian Setzer - Nitro burnin' funny Daddy or The Dirty Boogy - Great Swing music
Dining Rooms - Numero Deux - Relaxing
Rob Doughan - Furious Angles (matrix like music)
Thirteen OST - some of the best Funk music I've ever heard. This is extremely rare, so if you cant find it, I might be able to help

Etienne Picard - Get up!, Noche Diva (Look for "Freedom", I havent found it yet, if you do, message me)

THE MUSIC (http://themusicuk.com)

K-Os is supremely amazing. His new track Crabbuckit from his CD Joyful Rebellion is unreal. B-Boy stance is not as good but it still rocks.

Billy Talent friggin' rock, nuff said there.

I find that C|Net's music service is really good at finding different groups or singers that are good but under normal circumstances you would never have heard of. You should try that. (I recommend finding stuff by Space Vacuum with it)

Hi,

Glad you like the tunes but would like to know how you heard about the band as we aren't signed to any label and only publicise at gigs.

Thanks,
