I am quite new to the server and stuff for p2p, but sense i have a large amount of hardware and bandwidth resources, i want to set up my own p2p server, i want something like a centralize server and people just connect to it and just look for software with other members. something like kazaa.

i want a server software and client software that search programs, files and such through my server, but connect with other client to download them. something like DC++ is a network,

my friend suggest to use DC++ but i dont know where to begin, i plan to set up between 3-5 server sitting on a T1 so i need help with this.

it would be great if you can help out.

You don't want it like kazaa. Trust me. As for sueeting up a DC Hub, I'm sure that some of the more knowledgeable members around here can help you with that..............................

what's wrong with dc++ you can do what you want with it. The only other p2p programs that would fullfgill your needs is open nap, or irc, and open nap is even more confusing to set up then dc++ and dc++ is more widely used.

i wonder if the RIAA can share real copyrighted shit to convince you they aren't the badguys.

Somehow, I just don't see him as someone working for the RIAA.

He seems pretty new to the scene as it is, not to mention some of his posts don't appear to be made by someone who has English as their first language.

Anyway, kpp you could also try Waste (http://www.zeropaid.com/news/articles/auto/06172004g.php).

Guys, he's cool. He hosts www.gameglitch.com (http://www.gameglitch.com) . I was talking to him on AIM and suggested he ask here for suggestions. I've talked to him a number of times and I trust him.

Ok cool, thanks for the info.

I just could see some RIAA idiots paying someone to intermix with the fileshares only to harvest IP's and nail them for copyright infringment. I mean you set up a network...and share nothing..the people share. So they could easily set up hubs and other stuff legally without it being entrapment.
