A concert by Simon Vella, well known violinist and keyboardist, on Sunday 25th July 2004 at the Presidential Palace's Courtyard, Valletta at 7:30pm will commemorate the political student organisation, Studenti Demokristjani Maltin (SDM)'s 30th Anniversary. The event will be held under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Malta.
Simon Vella has been composing music and experimenting with introducing the violin to a number of contemporary music styles since early 2000. He has his own solo album, Scores, and has played together with various renowned Maltese artists. Simon shall be playing a selection of his repertoire, including jazz, funk, classical and soft rock and other genres. He shall be accompanied by a four piece band on Sunday evening.
Entrance to the concert is free of charge. However an invite should be obtained by emailing info@sdm.org.mt or calling 79 359 125.
SDM is also requesting all past executive members to contact the organisation using the above contact details.
SDM would like to thank all those who have formed part of the Executive or who have contributed in some way or another throughout its 30 year history. SDM has actively played an important role in Malta's recent political history. Professing Christian Democratic principles, SDM has fought for the restoration of democracy, defended student's rights since its inception 30 years ago and campaigned fully for Malta's membership in the European Union.
