what about technology like gnutella2 and gnutella? They are both open source and decentralized, and will continue to work (and likely be worked on) long after this act might pass. Distrobution would not be illegal from a country where it isn't illegal, nor would development.

This just shows ignorance. The more rights you give up the more you will lose. It is no a "we give up the right to produce copyright-violating devices and live happily ever after" scenario.

Also like Edmund Burke said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." The same applies to our rights, the only thing that is necessary for our right to be lost is that decent citizens do nothing.

If you are a US citizen and are of voting age, contact your senator.

I'm not of voting age and if I were I would, DampCold.

If mp3 players (they'd have to do mp3 CD players and maybe normal CD players too ... and dont forget minidiscs and other devices)... OK so if personal digital audio were banned, there would at least be an uprising from the tech corporations, who have their own devices. Even microsoft who is planning on an mp3 player soon with their Janus (i think) copy protection.
