Young singer Eleanor has just released her first of two promotional singles as an introduction to her CD album to be released towards the end of summer.

The CD single 'Through all my life' features the song with which she participated in the last 'Song for Europe' Festival in which she placed 7th, together with a bonus track of the same song as a ballad. The song is composed by Paul Giordimaina with lyrics by Fleur Balzan.

21 year old Eleanor started singing at the age of 11 and by the age of 14 she was already a regular in various festivals as a backing vocalist and later on as a soloist. In 2000 she won the L-Ghanja tal-Poplu song festival together with Glen Vella and later that year went on to place 2nd in the International Festival of Maltese Song, again with Glen Vella with the song 'It-Tfal tal-lum'. This result led to the couple participating in the Discovery Festival in Bulgaria in 2001 where they won 1st place with the song 'Secret Charm's'.

Since, Eleanor has obtained other awards namely the 'Certificate of Recognition' offered by FIDOF, the best promising Singer at the Malta Music awards in 2001, and she also succeeded in other local festivals.

This year Eleanor has been invited to participate the Golden Stag Song Festival in Romania towards the end of July. She is being supported by Antonella Vella of 'Beauty Team' and by Ray Ashley who is designing her outfit for the Festival in Romania.

The songs were recorded at Tone Studios by Andrew Zammit whilst the CD sleeve was designed by Chris Frendo of Creative Graphics.

The CD has been produced by b.Right new media Ltd.

"Song for Europe" and all the similar events are totally senseless and everybody who participates in them are idiots. but what weighs even heavier is the fact that none of those wanna be singers can sing. All of them kind of got (in)famous by sitting in those damn Big brother containers, then they were give a microphone and told to sing some bullshit. What a contemptuous spectacle!

Song for Europe is the contest to put maltese singers in the eurovision song contest. practically a competition that decides who will represent malta in the eurovision.

therefore it is not reality tv.

However even if the eurovision is worth nothing, it is only one of the few opportunities maltese artists have of getting exposure. that is make there music listened by millions of people.
