Greetings all ---

Does anyone know where one could find old style NES & Sega games to play/dl?

And my definition of "old" is like Shinobi, kung fu, punch out, pit fighter, etc... All those classic 80s games when Punch, Kick and Jump were all you had to worry about.

That's all --- thanks in advance for any help.

Use google to find online games. And learn what ROMs are and how to play them, ROMs are available on the net but you should only download them if you already own the real copy of a program. And be sure you run anything you download from ROM sites through a virus scanner.

Dont do warez and file requests in the forums.

If its copyrighted, its not allowed to be talked about downloading in the forums.

It's not warez if one owns the original cart....he never said he didn't. He could be looking for emulators and roms because his NES died on 'em. He still owns the games... :P

Anyway Nesticle is your best bet for an emulator and bittorrent www.suprnova.org and other torrent sites for nice lil emulation/game bundles. :)

If you have a dreamcast or want to buy a cheap used one (and own the original games of course) there are very cool downloads that have every single NES game on 1 cd and every SNES game on 2 cd's. The nintendo games play perfect, as do most of the snes games though some can be a little slow.

There is also A program that will let you watch Divx movies on your dreamcast! My dreamcast has died now which bites the big one! Bit I tried it a long time ago and the prog worked. It was buggy but it worked.

Speaking of random shit....

I'm watching "Old School" right now.

If any of you haven't seen it, but like the daughter from 24, see it. Great pink hip hugger PJ ass shot in one scene. She was fed right..... lol

Oh an DivX on Dreamcast sucks....14-15fps decoding of low rest video.....no audio last I heard. So does NES and SNES emulation, but run below spec speed for some strange reason.

Sorry CCS, still warez whether you own the original or not, that is a myth along the same lines as deleting a file you do not own after 24 hours, thus making all activity OK.

Besides, he never mentioned file names in the first place, so he is ok

Except for punch out GOD DAMN IT!! It's really slow on the Dreamcast. Thank goodness my NES still works.

Divx does suck on dreamcast, but it does have sound. Nes emulation runs at full speed and quality sound on dreamcast with Nester. Snes runs great with dreamsnes but you need to mess with the framerate settings on some games. If you don't mess with them I'd say it runs at about 90% speed on those. There are also sms, genesis, Mame, colecovision, atari, intellivision and many other emulators for popular systems . Playstation emulation works well but the movie format used for ps1 is not compatible with dreamcast's system.

The best thing about the dreamcast is that it doesn't require any boot disc or mod chip as of now. Most of the dreamcast games can be found on suprnova or on alt.binaries.dreamcast. The emulators can be found at www.dcemulation.com (http://www.dcemulation.com)

Thanks for the info. :) I ditched the DC sourceforge projects way before they got out of beta...lol Almost makes me wanna buy a new DC now...

What happens with PS games on DC? FMV just not play? It crash? Full speed? Proper emulation of all games?

Well it's not myth, you can have 1 'other' backup of any given game or software and even DVD. Provided you don't sell it/trade it or make anything from it or sell your original you can have the two copies in cart/cd/dvd format as well as on a HD or DVD elsewhere.

its from a flea market, they gutted a ps1 out.. put a motherboard on there.. and refigured the thing to use ps controlers.. Its a emulator at best.. its loaded with 55 games, but it says theres 8000 games.. Like if you do super mario level 1-4.. then after wards you click on another that loads 2-5 and such. . Its pretty neat. If you want one i can get it for you for 40. with cartridge and shipping is a few dollars.. It plays nintendo games too =) av jacks so you dont need to hook through cable.

I've been meaning to get back here and send out a quick thanks to all of you for the help I got on this thread... SO, thanks.

I took Kerensky97's advice, learned what a ROM is and how to play them. Now I can relive the glory days of punch, kick and jump --- and just generally blow s**t up.

Anyway - I don't post much, but check in almost daily to peruse. You folks are always helpful --- Thanks again.

P.S. and let us not forget about up, up, down, down, L, R, L, R, B, A, Start :gj
