Bittorrent uses a lot of bandwidth for requests and replies to other peers requests. Thats why you have to leave 5-8 kBs free to work effectively. In total what it appears in azureus to be your download speed adds up with the traffic when communicating with the other peers. Therefore the total bandwidth used is more than what you see in azureus screen.

When you unistall azureus the downloads don't get deleted except if you manually do so. After a fresh installation just select the torrents you were downloading and your downloads will be resumed where they were left. Be sure to have the same path for the downloads folder to resume the incomplete torrents.

I would also like to clean install a new copy of azureus but even though I tried installing to another partition I still got the same setting. I don't know if its the registry or user documents and setting files that holds the old settings. But it would be nice if it had the clean install feature within azureus itself.

Maybe try another client. Bitcomet or torrentstorm are good. I get incredible speeds with TorrentStorm, myself.

Thanks RacknRail I'll check it out. BTW Devil I figured how to clean uninstall, I hope your using XP, if so then uninstall Azureus then delete the azureus file from Documents/user(which ever user you are logged in as)/Application data/Azureus.

It worked for me and now Azureus working just fine.
