News Comments

How about changing the method/software used to post comments on news stories on the main page. Personally I don't like the news comments software.

How about throwing all news stories in to these forums and allowing comments here?

I agree with this. If the comments were ran through the forums then the forums would really benifit off all the discussion that the comments create. It would also be easier to weed out unappropiate posts and that one person wouldnt be able to screw up the comments by posting the counter anymore.

The comment forums could be open to guest posters but forums that allow guest posting requires mods to keep an eye on it and they will be busy... because the majority of people who cause problems dont register.

I agree completely. This has been brought up a couple times before, and here are the two best options i could find for integrating the news with the board:

Option 2: PHPportal - (download & example) (http://www.phpportals.com/)
(note: you have to register to view the Case-Sensitive forums)

please i would love to see improvements to the news comments
i am tired of seeing u suk and so on. ive gotten hooked on this site for the news and interviews and the comments and conversations
nothing in my opinion has hurt the site more than the carelesness of some posters to the news comments. you guys are doing an awesome job
id hate to think that it was them that chased off matt or detours others from posting news and interviews

and i hope that i used chased off matt wrongly
