I voted emule simply because of all the files available. It's slow, but file availability is high. You always know what you are downloading to through comments and lookups at fake sites.

I don't know if you made this poll to gather knowledge or to make a decision, but I would truthfully go with all 4. Ares is a fast network, but you won't find tons of files. Soulseek is a great network for music and Winmx has a lot of stuff to, but I like it more for the fact that it's like a chat system that plays perfectly into file sharing. I think it makes it kind of fun to share on there.

There really is no comparison. I say they all have their highlights, and depending on what you need, you will find a different one to fit each of those needs. I recommend getting them all and DECIDING FOR YOURSELF.

I personally wouldnt waste my time with winmx, but the other 3 are great. i have all 3 installed, and use 2 of them very frequently.

elaborating on shawners post, why even limit yourself to these 4? there are other good networks out there as well, such as Direct Connect and the infinite Bit Torrent networks, to name a couple.

Choosing only one program/network is like watching only one channel on TV. Its not going to have everything you want.

You gonna have to decide which program that suits you. Some ppl like 1 program while others like another so it is mainly preference. I myself like ares and emule

I personally would waste my time with winmx as its the best network ever. The most wide selection of movies and rare videos you will find anywhere and its only getting better. E-mule is a good choice also. Decide for yourself though by trying them out.

I voted Ares, 'cos I'm a fanboy. In saying that, you can't go wrong with Ares, but a more specialist program may be better suited for your needs.

Ares - bog standard p2p program. Fast, lively and growing, but no special buttons of features.
E-mule - very popular client. Excellent when used in conjuction with a link site. Huge database of files. If you can't find a video file, it probably doesn't exist! No so good for single tracks. Nothing really wrong with it for music, its just that you can do better. Requires a small amount of setting up. You also need to upload for a while to get decent download speeds. Not really a problem in the long term.
Soulseek - strangely no votes so far?! Excellent for rare music. Very strong community. I'd say Ares was better for more popular music, but that is my opinion, not fact.
WinMX - Fanboys put me off this a bit. I know that is hypocritical with the way I talk about Ares, but I don't care. I've never used it for more than a minute.

Each P2P software has their pros and cons. It depends what your looking for.

Personally I'm using eMule now. The speeds are slow, but the selection is vast.

basicly it all depends on what you're looking for. Based on ur searching for. for example for big files u most definitly should go to the ed2k network. On the contrary I would never advise to look for smaller files such as single mp3's on the ed2k network as it is not very likely to find the files the program isnt designed for that. For smaller files such as single music files I would suggest something like winmx or mp2p network. hope this helps!

I was surprised when I first downloaded it and used it as I thought it would be a crasppy prog

new Ares is fast but it's easy to spread fakes when users keeps renaming them to different filename. eMule (slow) and WinMX (fast) suffered from queues but if you want eMule (which connected to eDonkey network), use eDonkey2000 v1.0 instead so you could get your files easily.

it impossible to except only one, to choose only one... because emule is best with video but is not as big in music as slsks... so, the leader of video is slsk, in video emule. but if I could choose only one, I would choose emule.

Try each one and deside for yourself. I now been leaning towards emule because Kazaa and Ares have fake files. Winmx the wait time is too long, ie 0 of 1 queue 300. No information on soulseek.

I dont care what anyone says. Ares is the best program/network out there. You can give me the bs about features but you dont need all that extra junk. Ares is all you need, ive been using it since February and havent had ONE problem with it. Ares has over 1,000,000 people now and not one person has been sued on it. Speeds are great also. Ares is all you need

I use many didferent clients all at once, that way I have many different sorces to find what Im looking for, I don't jsut use one P2P program. I use:
-Bitttorrent (The best for many things, very good DL speed 9/10 times. Must know how to use it as it method of file sharing is different)

-Ares (Fast network, easy to use, good for getting new music more of the time, etc)

-Mynapster (Not as fancy as other P2P programs, but when there is good sorces, its DLing speeds are very fast, with loads of content. A good program that I think has been left out of the loop.

-Kaaza Lite K++ 2.4.3 - (I use this program mainlt for movies (sometimes) for DLing speed, and sometimes hard to find songs. Let's face it the fasttrack network has been around for a while, and it network still has many users believe it or not, and it can be good for finding some hard to find stuff because of its size. Other then that it is my least fav.)

Go it any or all of these and you'll be set, screw all the other shit out there, everything I have ever wanted has been found with these programs.

Ares isen't very good for movies anymore. I personally would recommend Emule for large files because on ARES you have partial uploads and you can't controll how many users and what speed they go at unless you have netlimiter but even then it still clogs your bandwith making downloads go to a crawl.
