ANts P2P realizes a third generation P2P net.
It protects your privacy while you are connected and makes you not trackable,
hiding your identity (ip) and crypting everything you are sending/receiving from others.
----------------------------------------------------------
Almost every feature has been implemented.
Now ANts manage everything it all!
Autoresume
Autosearch sources and download activation
Multiple sources download
Autorun
You have just to find your file and click on download... like in emule.
If your sources get disconnected ants automatically search for alternative sources over the net untill it find them...
So please help us making the net grow! Spread the word and use the program...
we need your remarks!
Beta is near!

Hey Gwren, you should let US users know that they need to change the irc address in the program to irc.us.azzurra.org to be able to connect to the room.

Beta 0.1.0 is available for download Wolfie. It works...and a heck of a lot better than mute does. There is very little on the network so far, but that's to be expected. I'm going to be running my node 24/7 on my second box to help the network instead of my mute node which had been running for a good 5 months.

No, it isn't completely anonymous. No program which uses the internet to connect can ever be truly anonymous. Those who are directly next to you on the network can see your ip address. Otherwise there would be no way to connect to them. But, If you only connect to trusted ip addresses as your neighbor nodes, ie friends, family members, there is no way for the acronym organizations, or anyone else for that matter, to even know that you are on it. Ants encrypts all communications with your neighbor nodes, so not even your isp can know what exactly you are doing. Just don't use the default port, it's kind of a give away.
You are completely anonymous to everyone but your neighbor nodes. Your shares are completely anonymous to everyone including your neighbor nodes.
So if you were directly connected to the riaa, mpaa, or bsa, they could tell that you are on the network, but couldn't tell what, if anything, you are sharing.
This is my understanding of the routing system, I could be incorrect, I'm no expert on internet protocol, encryption, or programming. Regardless, It seems to be your best chance of not being caught so far, if a larger crackdown ever starts.

That is exactly what I mean waste networks are known to be a trust network, you have to know the people and exchange ip addresses to set up a waste network. The people who you allow to connect to the network is trusted users, however as you pointed out anyone can connect to an ant node, thereby seeing other ip addreses they are connected to, especially on the point of entry.
You need to connect to a node, and once your connected to that node your ip address is going to be seen, that is the point I am trying to make clear. You must connect to someone else, so if the Riaa wants to pretend they are a regular user and connect to your node, it wouldnt matter whether the node was encrypted or not because as long as they download one file from a user they can easily obtain said users ip address.
Now let me make it clear this is better then other p2p programs because you are much more protective on this p2p network then on others, because although you are sharing files they will not be able to browse you. So yeah so what if the riaa downloads one file from you they arent going after users sharing one file. But I just wanted to addthat this program is not truely anoymous, but its way better then other p2p programs.
thanks for clearing it up miniver :)
peace
