I found a progg that you might find useful. AntiCrash, it isnt a progg that frees up ram when it is needed, it is much more than that. It prvenents computer/programs crashes and blue screens. It brings up a lil screen saying that just intercepted a crash. It can also un-freeze a frozen program. I would reccomend this above all ram tools shown on shareware sites. Its a handy program and until now it has worked extremely to my needs.

I've ran Hare, AntiCrash, and Zoom but as to whether they're really helping me or not I'm not to sure.

They really don't. I have ran all three in the past as a test. They didn't do anything and I would be willing to bet that they do more harm than good, as all of the other programs like them seem to do. If you don't want to crash, then learn some things about computers and learn how to make it so your system is strong enough so that it won't crash.

to me they help, i have random shit on my computer scattered around, and i dont have much ram so if i run adobe ps and truespace at the same time well, it actually helps, truespace the version i have now is buggy and for me it works. For a messed up pc it works fine. Now i try to organize my pc as much as possible. For some reason a couple of weeks ago i had that i wasnt able to uninstall programs and the uninstaller would deleted it self after clicking on it. When i went to uninstall programs it would say nothing is installed but as i scroll down unders a white window it would show a whole list of proggs. Lukcily everything is fine now. Ps i only have 256 ram which is crap.

alot of it could be avoided if you install software without other programs running, and deleteing or moving things around.. Know your pc limits of how much system resources a program uses and weather it can handle others. BLUE Screen of death is so windows 95.. I remember nukeing people on MIRC those days long ago.

In replacement for AntiCrash or something similiar.. just do this...

1.) Upgrade your computer, this includes buying the largest hard drive you can afford, and as much ram as your computer can support and you can afford.
2.) Defragment your hard-drives as often as possible (I defrag mine at 4am every morning while im sleeping)
3.) Delete any useless clutter files, and folders you've had laying around since your last re-format.(know what your doing before you do this.)
4.) Clean your registry, I reccommend regseeker.
5.) Keep track of what system processes you are running, and turn off any you do not need. (be knowing of what you end before you do it)
6.) Keep anti-virus and firewall software up to date, and don't use software such as these that use high amounts of system resources (NAV 2k4 uses high cpu for me)
7.) Turn off System Restore. This really never had worked for me, and it constantly backs up data, which uses both CPU power and hard drive resources, as well as some RAM.
8.) See here: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm
