So I have some home movies on svcd but the backup images on my comp have a problem,
one of the disks is missing a cue file. Can anyone recommend a way to salvage the bin image and its contents?

Ive heard good things about a program called makecue which makes the .cue file if you have a .bin

But i cant vouch for it as i have never had call to use it.

you can find it at the bottom of this page http://webfaq.org/downloads.htm

Make cue does work well, I've used it and can vouch for it.
I think you can also use also use Daemon Tools to mount it and then just copy the files to another CD in Nero or whatever you use. I'm not sure if DT requires the .cue to mount or not...

Yes, you can just burn the .bin without the cue through nero, or just mount it to a virtual drive through Daemon Tools.

Or you could just open up a working cue and then change the name of the bin file to the one that you want to burn, then save it as something else. You then can use it. Cue files are very tiny and can usually be edited manually by simply changing the bin it points to. Open it up with notepad, then you will see what I mean.

yeh that is probably the best option as it doesnt involve installing extra software. But beware you cant use a .cue for a game as it uses a different mode than an SVCD.

If you dont have a .cue lying around you can make one by opening up notepad and typing this, then simply save it in the same directory as your .bin:

FILE "image-name.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 1 MODE2/2352
INDEX 1 00:00:00

where image-name.bin is the name of your svcd file.
