Which is the best network to download big filez? I mean Gamez, Moviez and and any other Isoz. I also want to ask which is faster? IRC, Direct Connect or Bittorrent?

It all depends on your connection.

I think miniver wants to know how fast your connection is.

it also depends on what you're looking for. if you're looking for files that have been out for quite some time, the ed2k network is your best bet. it carries the highest number of quality files from any time...it is often slow though.
IRC, Bittorrent, and Newsgroups are all very fast...and if you don't get what you're looking for fast, it will be gone.
as for Direct Connect...what you will find varies from hub to hub, as does the speed. you will only download as fast as the other party can upload.

Newsgroups give me the fastest speed. It's as fast as my connection will allow. With direct connect you can get really fast speeds or impossibly slow ones. I don't really use irc much. Bittorrent speeds are okay but it all depends on the torrent and the people in it. Suprnova's torrents are pretty much always good for speed due to it's popularity, torrentbits has great speeds due to it's upload/download requirements, plus only the best uploaders can access a torrent at first so if you get in then you see amazingly fast speeds. Nothing beats newsgroups though.

Yeah I gotta go with the Newsgroups also. They are as fast as my connection will allow and you can find everything-I mean everything there.

and if you can't find it, you can request it to be posted.

I think newsgroups are good for new stuff. I use usenetserver.com and during the right times of the day, I can pull in over 8 mbits with my college line. It's usually around 3, which just about tops out my home line.
If you want something almost new, I would go with IRC or Bittorrent. Usually stuff pops up on Suprnova within a few hours of hitting IRC, so it's not too bad either way.
Like cpu said, ed2k is the best, but slow as hell. You can find like every movie worth watching, every album including rare ones, every piece of software ever cracked, etc... It usually is a few days behind the other three in terms of getting new stuff though and it takes forever to download anything. You do know though, when you are downloading something, that it's either legit and high quality or it will have comments that it is a fake and you don't have to download the whole thing.

Yes but to download from newsgroups your ISP must have a good news server or you must pay to get an account to a good newserver. :-(

Cyta doesn't have newsgroups in Cyprus(I think) so your best shot will be bittorrent. I hope Cyta upgrades their ADSL because Cablenet is comming with cable connections of 512/1500 in 3-4 months time! Btw a friend of mine said they are already thinking of upgrading their bandwidth...

I'm having no problems with speed using Cytanet. I always get an average speed of 105kb with BitTorrent. I would like to learn more about newsgroups though and how i can access new releases from major release groups like DEViANCE, DEMENTiA, ALLiANCE etc........

What port are you using and settings? I never get over 50 with random ports? Is there a trick?
Also, if I upload a lot it saturates my download so I upload 5-8 and 14 when seeding.. :mellow
I use azureus, its the only client that goes that far.
