Getting started with BitTorrent, who would be so kind to help?

Hey there, I could use your help! I'm quite new to BitTorrent and I think I really like the concept. Right now I get the majority of my files through eDonkey and various private channels and I'm interested in taping into BitTorrent as well.

However, I can't seem to establish a good list of websites which will make finding the files easier. They always die on me or any of that shit. Googling for torrents doesn't seem the way to go either, which is quite understandable considering the life span of the files.

I would be grateful if some of you could point me in the right direction?
