Just rename the file 2.part to American Pie 2.avi in your temp directory!

I think what DigitalJunkie said is the only thing you can do... but maybe, you have to download a DivX player/codec. Look @ www.divx.com

I have installed SLDcodecs.
I have also installed AVIcodec, program which can tell me which codes are using by the avi file.
AVI file use audio codec Mpeg Layer-3.
I checked to see if I have this codecs. I have this one and this is the version v 4.2 1999-2000.
Maybe there is an updated, tell me where can I download this codecs.
Thanks for your contribution

you also might want to try another player for your movie. You can try Global Divx 1.9.1. It is freeware and It runs alot of my movies that some others wont.
Global DivX (http://ftp.pcworld.com/pub/new/graphics_and_multimedia/video/video_tools/gdivx191.exe)

What it is strange is that my video program does not play only 1 avi file , I have to close all my programs in order to play this avi but without sound.
I have no problem with others avi files.
I'm on a laptop with W98SE running.
I have installed Nimocodecs ver 8 and SLDcodecs.
Any other suggestion ???
I will try with global divx but I don't believe ....

have you tried to convert the file into another format? it might take a while to convert depending on the speed and stuff of the laptop but it might work.

I have tried with your Globaldivx and finally, it still working.
I have sound but I have from time to time freeze screen.
If I launch again I have freeze screen on others scenes.
Maybe something with my graphic card or ram memory.
I have Ati Rage Mobility AGP.

The file is a divx film. I don't have a rewriter.
I can not test the file on another computer.
In fact, I have a lot of avi files and this is the first time I have a problem.
Strange ???

On the Zoom Player's right side click on Option, then DVD then DVD Settings. On this screen, the firt option is for ignoring errors, the player support playing dvds & avi files, but I havn't need to use this option yet! It may or may not work.
Generally, if like videos you should get a good computer with P-III with 1Ghz & as much RAM as you can. Both P-III computers & RAMs are cheap these days, I would wait until September when new Pentium chips are available, older chips' would get even cheaper!!!

What was the name ofthat movie?
Did you download all those audio filters needed from Doom9.org for playing AC3 Dolby 5.1 Channels DVD & AVI movies?
There are also different codecs, DivX or Xvid for avi files?
I am curious, I never had any problem like yours before! I would like to get to the bottom of this problem also.

This is the link: american.pie.2.fr-testé.www.divxovore.com.avi
I have downloaded SLDcodecs and Nimo8 codecs.
You have to consider that I have a laptop and my graphic card is an ATI Rage Mobility.
When running americanpie2.avi file, I have some freeze images from time to time. Maybe it could be the avi file damaged.
What it is strange is that if I reload the film, the freeze images are not the same than the first time: this is ramdomly.
I have any problems with others avi files.

OK! I have this setup & it works on all the movies I downloaded without any problem so far.
For DivX & XviD movies, I have the lastest DivX 5.0.2 from http://www.divx.com/ .
Also, audio filters from http://doom9.org/software.htm#filters .
Let me know this would help or not?
