hey guys i was wondering if anyone else have been having these problems.

first dvd shrink awhile back could burn movies alone with out any other program now it only allows me to back up files.

second with LOTR that i was burning, it kinda came out to shitty quality. And that was after I used it with dvd decrypter. when i play the files in dvd shrink, its exactly like the original dvd and when i burn it, it comes up with a different quality. any other movie i tried doesnt have problems except this one. any idea whats up
thanx

That's because the preview window in Shrink uses the original source--that's why you hear the DVD drive spinning, usually.

Perhaps the reason this is the only one that looked like this is because the quality drop was not noticeable on the other movies you have tried. LOTR is a large and long movie, so quality suffers.

Go with 2 discs or a dualie.

I haven't noticed any quality problems, but I haven't tried copying any movies as long as LOTR.

Let me preface this by saying that the following statement depends on how picky you are and/or how sharp your eyes are.

With Shrink, you can start to see some "mosquito" pixelation or blockiness upon close inspection during action scenes, fast-paced scenes, or water-effect shots as high as 85% of original, but to most people (including me), nearly every movie is fine down to about 75%. I don't go any lower than 70% though--I usually keep it at or above that magical 75% marker (for me).
