yeah, yeah, i'm a newbie alright. and i have some questions for you all.
first, i really want to download full albums, you know, albw files. but they are a pain to download of my p2p program, limewire, because there is a limited supply and u have to scroll through so many extraneous files and hope to strike gold. some websites like simplemp3 purport to have free albw downloads, but it reeks of deception. is it too good to be true (just to download an album i am prompted to run some program first, which is shady) and if it is, what websites can i download free albums from. and if thats not possible, which p2p program is best for albws. please help! its much appreciated!

um downloading off websites isn't reliable unless its from a legal site, the site probably would get shutdown pretty fast

Downloading off of sites isn't the best method since they can force you to install spyware. However, if you run Ad-Aware & Spybot and know what not to click on they can be usefull.
21st Century (http://www.21century-mp3.nu/) is a pretty good site. Sometimes it doesn't work, but 70-80% of the time it does, the only drawback is that they make you get LeechPlug-in before you can download off of them. But since it's not spyware it's no big deal.

um downloading off websites isn't reliable unless its from a legal site, the site probably would get shutdown pretty fastUnless it's in Romania. If Suprnova was going to get shut down it probably would have been by now. Even if it did, I'm sure the countless mirrors of the site would continue to use the code and name of Suprnova.

never go to a banner ridden site. And the best sites never make you install anything.

If you want to download full CDs get on the edonkey network. That means using one of the following clients: eDonkey2000, Overnet or eMule (there are others but these are the main ones). The ed2k (eDonkey) network is now the biggest p2p community and it specialises in big, high quality files. That means DVD-R movies, DivX and Xvid movies, full CDs as mp3 or equally often lossless formats such as APE and flac, and a huge variety of applications and games on CD and DVD, often in the form of ISO or bin & cue files.
Install one of these clients and go to some links sites like ed2k-it or shareconnector, you'll find others too. Also use the search function. just enter the name of the band you want and maybe EAC (EAC is the best audio CD ripper) and watch as the list of available albums unravels in front of you :tilted
You'll need to take a little time to get used to the client and the way things are done in the ed2k community. It's a mature community so it has high standards and expectations of releases, also there are a lot of specialist sites for pretty much anything you might be interested in. Also being a mature community there is a huge wealth of knowledge and help available but tread carefully, do your own research and make every attempt to help yourself first before asking for lots of help, people will appreciate helping someone who isn't just along for the free ride. If you get into it you'll start to appreciate that it is ultimately a community with a core of rippers & releasers and it's satisfying to make your own releases as well as download lots of free stuff. You'd be amazed at what you can find on ed2k. It's all out there.
