View Full Version : Zeropaid loses part of it's history

Jorge
June 15th, 2004, 11:06 AM
For over 4 years now, one dog has been at the center of the Zeropaid family. Independence AKA Indy has been with us since the beginning of ZP, standing by us, pushing us to succeed. She was laid to rest yesterday at the tender age of 4 due to a brain fungus she was battling for over 3 months. A tough decision, but something Chris had to do. Most of you might have seen pictures of her around the site or even seen here in press news videos.

Indy has passed on to a better place, we hope you say a prayer and take 2 seconds out of your lives to remember this wonderful dog. Independence AKA Indy

I'm sure I speak for all your friends here at ZP when I say we are all saddened by your loss. I have extended my prayer/meditation this morning to include you & Indy, along with Hunter and his mother.

What a beautiful dog...
I lost an animal under more immeadiate circumstances a short while ago...
(could almost be considered murder)
It's strange how quickly our pets establish themselves in the family...
I'm sorry for your loss, and wish the best for you...

Sorry to hear the passing of your beloved dog. It's hard to lose something so valuable to you. I've recently lost a good friend last week to suicide, so I can certainly sympathize. We take each day for granted, not knowing what lies ahead of us. Just like the 'ol saying, 'You don't know what you've got til it's gone'. And once it's 'gone', then you start to realize to appreciate & cherish every moment that you've had with them.

I am sorry for your loss Jorge. It is always unfortunate when a beloved part of your family dies. I totally agree with you on that one. I had a dog a few years ago and he got sick. We have a pet Shadow Now who is past of our family. She help my daughter( cause she is really affectionate and smart) cause my daughter lost her mom last year. ANY LOSS HURTS JORGE

Yes indeed; if neither recorded through written word nor passed down with charisma via word of mouth, history is lost. How can one truly embrace the nature of the community when a reasonably digestable source past is hidden and locked in the minds and hearts of those who have experienced it? While surely I offer my most sincere condolences to both Chris and Jorge, I also suggest that a positive, productive mentality be maintained. Proper, abbreviated, Zeropaid history documentation, which would likely include the role of one IndyMac, is encouraged.

Jorge, and Chris, Im really sorry to hear that, as I know how hard it is to loose a friend, be it 2 legged, or 4. All of our pets are as much a part of our family as any person is.

Sorry to hear about your loss, and i know its not easy when you lose someone you love.
Its real sad man and try to take it easy, even though it will be hard to but remember things will be ok.
. I know how you feel I lost my pet hamster harry long ago, and I have a dog and if something was to happen to them I would feel messed up inside.

I love my dogs as well and let me just say that i had my babies since there were like two weeks old, i bottle fed them as well. they fitted in the palm of my hands as well, and it would really devastate me if i ever lost them. i wouldnt be able to face it.

it is really sad to lose a part of your family, and its not just easy to accept. i know people give there condolences and that is all that they can do and pray, my heart goes out to your loss because its really sad to lose a part of your family. i dont consider my dogs to be just dogs they are more then that and they mean the world to me so i do know how you feel in your loss.

once again sorry about the loss

So sorry to hear that Jorge. I know how it is. One of my dogs was running out of the way of a car and hit his dead on the curb and died. I felt so bad for my little mutt. We tried to give him away when he was a pup and no one wanted him. He was a cutey though. white curly hair and runt of the litter...

He was to rambuctious to his own good.

take care man!

I'm Still Here

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

I just want to say every time I read this thread it breaks my heart. I have had a dog in my life for as long as I can remember. I haven't had to put one down for over 11 years. I now have two, a Border Collie and a Jack Russell. I love them as family and know how much people can be attached to their dogs. I have always said that the grief and sorrow in the end is a small price to pay for the wonderful years of enjoyment and love they bring to our lives. It is also said that the domesticating of dogs was the best deal we ever made with the animal kingdom and I believe that. I had one save 3 people including myself in a house fire in 1986. It broke my heart to put her down.

Know how you feel man. Put one down last August. I have another, but you just can't help but remember the personality and memories that your last little friend provided.

Sorry to hear about the loss. I currently have a very similar dog. He's a bout a year old, same colors. His name is Turbo. He is my second pit-bull (a dirty word to some breed enthusiasts, but a name that most recognize). My first is a small black and white named Belle (my daughter named her for the disney princess, my bird whom my other daughter named Dean, died over the winter). At first, I was aprehensive due to the ignorant portrayal of the breed. But I'll be the first to tell someone, to own a pit is to love them. They are the lovingest, goofiest dogs a person could ever own. It's sad that in the rare occasion this neglected breed found a loving home, it's life was cut short. Though it is a comfort to know Indy received such love in her life.
