I would like to know what Indie bands people here like.
Please include the genre (or perceive genre) and website if they have one.
Two bands in the Atlanta area I like:
RedLetterAgent -- Brit Rock
http://www.redletteragent.com
Pageant -- Not quite sure how to describe them (Trippy?) Brit Rock?

Allmusic is decent with shoving bands into genres. pitchforkmedia.com is a good place to check out too.

I need to get more into the local stuff, we've got some pretty kickass bands in Minneapolis and the surrounding area. Ever heard of Sue Generis? I know they've been up there (Duluth). They're from around here, I guess they used to play at the environmental school before they changed their name and stuff. The bass player comes into my work from time to time and usually gives me a sampler. They've got a classically trained pianist. Piano makes me happy. They're slowly getting bigger... just about every time I go to Perkins at night when there are kids around, I hear someone talking about them. Strange but true.
(I'm from Minnesota too)

The indie bands I currently listen to are:
Death Cab for Cutie
The Postal Service
Belle and Sebastian
Desaparecidos
Modest Mouse
There's a lot of other good one's like Ben Kweller, Shins, etc.
But those 5 are the one's I am listening to the most at this time.

I heard a band called Derby live a few weeks ago and I thought they were pretty good. I don't know if they have any albums or mp3s available so I don't know what they sound like in a studio release.
