WinMX crashes

Can any one help me?? For some reason my OS (windows XP Home edition) crashes whenever I run WinMX. It usually happens when i run a search or if I am able to get through a search it happens when i start to download, regardless it crashes everytime. I used to be able to run winmx for a couple of hours before it would crash but now its a matter of 2-3 minutes or so. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times to try to stop it from crashing, but it still happens. I
use several other P2P networks, and i have never had this problem with any of them execpt for WinMX. I have a cable modem connection, and ethernet. thanks

First, you might go to Start>Run> and then type without the quotes 'chkdsk /f' this is like ScanDisk in Windows 9x and it will check your disk for errors, and if it asks you to do it when you restart then do y for yes and then restart your computer, it may take a while, but it could solve this problem and may even help with some other Windows Problems....
