i was wondering is there any software or any way to copy original dvd's to your hard drive?
with only using a dvd rom or a cd/rw?

and i have a mini disk and when it copys the music file to my hard drive it puts it in .ogg and was wondering how do i convert this to .mp3?

well i think you could use dbPoweramp to convert an ogg file to an mp3. i think you would have to downlaod a plugin for this capability though

If you just want to backup DVDsto your hard drive, you can get Smartriper or vstrip from Doom9 ( http://doom9.org/ ).
To convert between ogg & mp3 formats, try dBpowerAMP from http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ or others that support Ogg plug-in for encoding!

thanks alot i will try that....i tried smart rip but the program wont copy the dvd from the cd to my hard drive anyone know why?

I think if you check Doom9's site (see link in previous post above), you'll find that you need to install the correct ASPI layer for SmartRipper to work.

Here are the aspi drivers for Win2K -WinXP. if you are having problems try these, it will reqiure a restart and will also tell you if you already have the latest version.

Use Force ASPI 1.71 and make sure your using Smartripper .40 not .41 less errors.
