When I came to college I was really excited about using a T1 connection to download files. Unfortunately when I got here I learned the college restricts download speeds on P2P applications to roughly 1 k/s. Does anybody know of a way around it, please give me any answer...I'm desperate.

1 KB/sec, I would just get dial-up, and buy your own ISP like msn or aol, or earthlink, or some kind of cheap internet access a month for 56k, that way you can get like 3-5KB/sec, better than what your getting,... thats all I can think of, if you WHERE to do that I would just get www.talentg.com internet, it's only $7.99/month for unlimited internet access for 56k users, sorry I can't help anymore

no no no, don't use free, you only get like 10hrs, I use that much in 1night.. lol... 7.99/month for unlimited use is not bad, thats the cheapest I've ever found, and I've been on talentg now for 5months, their great! better than aol.. lol

You could always quit college.
Seriously, how is your college doing that? They will allow p2p but have limits on it? Strange. Maybe try one of the lesser knowns. Or try something like Filetopia.

Can you go through a proxy (IP tunnel?)
Try something like Netmess maybe.
