In my seemingly pointless campaign to find a p2p program that'll work from behind my University's firewall I have download Songspy, WinMX, mIRC, and even URL Blaze.
URL Blaze doesn't please me because of the search results and I just don't like how it works, plus it has reloading adware on it. Songspy doesn't connect or won't download, and WinMX is always "in queue", and mIRC is just flat out confusing to me, all I want is a p2p program like Kazaa Lite!
Can anyone offer me any help on any of these programs or give me a new one to try? I am really starting to go nuts after over a month without any downloading!! I'm going into withdrawal someone please help me before I shrivel up like a raisin and die!:hole

If you are at a university you most likely have a solid T1 or T3 connection. There is nothing wrong w/ sitting in que w/ winmx. I really suggest using the retry/find sources option on the transfer page. WinMx is one of the more university friendly programs. If you dont mind queing up a bunch of files at night b4 bed, they'll be done by morning. :gj

Okay, here's my deal. I've been able to download with IRC, but it is really slow, I'm getting the speeds I was getting with my 56k, plus its not very user friendly and I can't always find what I want. I tried Soulseek, but I never got it to download, I was hoping it would work since it connects to its own network instead of the more popular Gnutella and FastTrack. (it does doesn't it? lol) But it didn't work. I guess I've never been patient enough with WinMX, but I do think its my best hope besides using some type of hack program to get through the firewall. I've used Shareaza before I came here (college) and I thought it was a big piece of crap, no offense. Thanks for all the help I guess its just something that I'll have to keep messing around with.
