Hi,

I need help, my dad has a ati All-In-Wonder radeon 8500DV. It used to work great untill he installed a old Philips webcam. Once it was installed it screwed up the capture and tv tuner functionality. He's running win 98 se it used to work fine. I tried deleating Philips best I can no sign of it and I uninstalled and reinstall the videocard although the installation of the wmd Or aka media drivers keeps freezing in the middle. I tried installing the new ones same problem. My hunch is that this would be why the tv is working and such but i have no way of installing it. Any help would be great.

hey do you have the latest drivers for the video card and the camera

when you dont there can be problems that arise from them

when you go to the ati websight download the biggest driver you have for the video card
if it stilldoesnt work
then either format or beating the hell out of it can be a good idea
best of luck

Ya I got the new ones with no luck the webcam has been uninstalled but obviously not well its not in my posession anymore so i have no clue which model it was or anything. Personally i would format the machine but my dad doesn't feal like going through the hassle of backing everything up and reinstalling all his software so its just gonna stay as is unless i can fix it in which casse it would be great. So who knows thanks anyway.

I had trouble with that card too. One day it worked fine and the next it would give an error. I finally reinstalled the operating system and it worked fine. You should reinstall the operating system once every couple years anyway so if it's time i suggest that. It might also clear up performance problems.
