I'm racking my brain right now and remembered how helpful everyone was here MONTHS ago...
So here goes....
I'm trying to remember a song, and artist...
All I got to help is that the cd cover was green with a rhino on it
I want to say the cd title referred to another animal though (maybe an elephant or hippo)
The lyrics referrenced a girl lying on her back in the grass of a backyard staring up at the stars...
the singer thought she might be dead but she was just crazy
(or eccentric but i think the word 'crazy' was used)
It was a male singer...
I owned the album at the same time I was listening to Pixies -Surfer Rosa and Modest Mouse -The Moon and Antarctica....
So maybe 95 or shortly after...
I'm feeling nostalgic {sic} right now but can't figure this out...
Maybe there's somthing wrong with my head...

Any help would be greatly appreaciated

And the answer is....

Hum - Stars

(Hum is the name of the group and Stars is the name of the song).

Partial lyrics:

"...i found her out back sitting naked looking up and looking dead
a crumpled yellow piece of paper, seven nines and tens
i thought she'd be there holding daisies, she always waits for me
she thinks she missed the train to mars, she's out back counting stars..."

THANK-YOU!!!!
I was going crazy...
I couldn't, for the life of me, figure that out...
And now that you say it I feel like an even bigger idiot...

What's next? Am I going to forget my mother's name?

Thanks again

This is really wierd, but when you said a rhino on the cover, I immediately got the image of a zebra instead. Just went into my collection and found the C.D. and it IS a zebra. Strange.

Now that i think of it, it was a zebra...
Was it released by rhino?

There was always an internal debate in my head why they used a zebra...
Don't know why i cared... maybe i just wished they used a rhino...

Again, Thank you
