Any slow downs with WinMX lately?
The message bar in the upper left hand corner of the WinMX windows is "White" on mine. This is the window where it usually has the version number and a small message listed in it. Also, my connections, ALL connections have been slower than SH** last night and today still, so far. I'm trying to get a file that's only 5mb and I have 7 users that I'm DL'ing from and I"m still only running at 3.??/sec. All 7 users are running about .5? /sec.
Anyone else having troubles?
Thanks!

Ok, I tried a Primary Connection but there was no diff in the speed. Here is a screen print with what I'm talking about:

For some odd reason, even though I have the proper ports forwarded (no software firewall running), and can succesfully make a primary connection, I obtain no search results at all, for ANYTHING. A secondary connection works ok however.
I know others have had this problem before, but I forget the reasoning behind it.
Anyone care to enlighten me?
Also, I've found QueMX has gotten worse. I can't even get into a queue anymore!

if secondary users with too many files (5,000>?) connects to a primary user it can cause many different problems, its a known bug and is supposed to be fixed with the next version although dont hold your breath cause they were supposed to release it a LONG,LONG time ago.
to fix simply log off and on, and hope the same users do not connected to u
winmx has a scalabiliy issue, with causes more users to use secondary connection , making the problem even worse
the next edition will feature node indexing vs its spider search
if u find u have this problem agian dont just switch to a secondary connection if u can help it becuase it make the network even slower, log on and off several times if u have too.
as more and more primary users go away this problem becomes more common with all users on primary connections

The white box is up there to inform users of new updates (lol, WinMX updates! When pigs fly)
You may want to try some new clients out WinMX is long dead.

Well Winmx is not dead, I just got 5+ gigs of TV shows yesterday. I do wish Winmx would go open source though. Then maybe something would get done.

I mostly just use WinMX for music downloading. That's it.

That bar is used to let people know when a new version of winmx comes out. A message scrolls across the box letting you know to update or try the new beta. So basically, its no longer used for anything.
