I've got an After Effects problem. After installing successfully, when I go to start AfterFX, it pops up an error which reads

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error:
Program: ...AfterFX.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Contact Customer Support.....blah, blah blah"

After looking at http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/2aa8a.htm , http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/3164a.htm , and http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/316d2.htm I have determined it must be an OpenGL problem. The reason for this is because if I move the OpenGL plugin from the AfterFX plugin directory so that the program bypasses that plugin, the program starts fine. But when I place that plugin back in the directory, it won't boot. I called tech support today, and they couldn't help me. I did every single step on those pages. They didn't work.

I have an nvidia quadrofx 1100 graphics card. Latest drivers. AfterFX 6.0. Windows XP, latest updates. Anybody have any guidance on this issue? I also have the aida32 report and can email it to whomever. Thans guys.

Is there an updated openGL plugin?

Tried reinstalling the program?

I really have no clue, never worked with a quadro card or after effects.

Is there an updated openGL plugin? Nope.

Tried reinstalling the program? Several times....even reformatted the comp and reinstalled.

I really have no clue, never worked with a quadro card or after effects.

Thanks for the reply though phalk.

This isn't by any chance a homemade quadro card is it? I've seen conversion guides online....

Also, did it ever work?

Tried older drivers?

Nope. It's a brand new card........a brand new system. The whole computer and everything. So, since it's only about 3 weeks old, nope, it's never worked.

Haven't tried older drivers......can though...

Gah, runtime errors! Nasty things. All I know is that it's usually down to a missing .dll or .ocx file.

Microsoft have a runtime library you can check out, that's all I can suggest.
